The Peotone Fire Protection District will be hosting their Spring Open House on May 15th from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Station 14, 7550 W. Joliet Road.
“The Spring Open House is our opportunity to show those we serve how much we appreciate their ongoing support,” said PFPD Chief Steve Malone. “We have a full slate of family activities that will make the event fun and educational for all who attend.”
The Spring Open House will include a touch-a-truck of Peotone’s fire, police & public works vehicles, a junior firefighter challenge for kids, Hands-Only CPR practice and demonstration, face painter, bounce house, Auntie Anne’s Pretzel Truck, and other children’s activities.
Also, the PFPD Board of Trustees and Chief Malone will be giving a presentation on the potential consolidation of the Manhattan Fire Protection District and Peotone Fire Protection District at 12 PM and 2 PM.
Attendees will have an opportunity to ask questions about the impacts a consolidation will have on the delivery of fire, rescue, and emergency medical services in Peotone.
“We have worked very hard to educate the community about this issue and look forward to providing Peotone voters with ample information so they can make an educated decision about the future of their fire protection district on election day next month,” said Malone. “That’s why we encourage everyone to join us at this fun and educational event.”
