Peotone, IL -- The Peotone Fire Protection District’s Board of Trustees will host a town hall event on Tuesday, October 25th to share information and answer residents’ questions about the potential consolidation with the Manhattan Fire Protection District. The event takes place just two weeks before voters will be asked, via a referendum on the general election ballot, whether they support consolidation.
The referendum question that will appear on the ballot reads as follows:
“Shall the Peotone Fire Protection District dissolve and be consolidated
The Board of Trustees is hosting the event so residents can learn the facts about the current personnel crisis within the fire district and how a consolidation can address the challenges at hand and bring full-time firefighters to Peotone for the long-term.
The event will take place on Tuesday, October 25 at 7 pm at the Peotone Fire Protection District station located at 7550 W. Joliet Road in Peotone.
Members of the Peotone Fire Protection District Board of Trustees, as well as members of the PFPD command staff, will be on hand so answer all of the community’s questions about an issue so critical to the health and safety of Peotone families and businesses.
